No test day today, BW is coming in at 210 for some reason.  Go figure.  Last night I did 45 minutes of mobility and soft tissue work before bed, then slept in until 7 today.  As a result, I opted to make this morning's workout shorter, with an overhead focus.  If I picked a weight up, sooner or later it ended up over my head.  I did:

Warmup with 12k Kettlebell
16k KB: 5/5 One Arm Swings; 5/5 Snatches
20k KB: 5/5 One Arm Swings; 2x5/5, 1x3/3 Snatches
24k KB: 5/5 Snatches (Ties PR)
28k KB: 2/2 Snatches (PR)
32k KB: 1/1 Snatch (PR, ugly as possible, even lost it once), 1/1 Clean and Push Press (Ties PR)
Barbell Overhead Press: 5x45lbs, 5x65lbs; 3x5x85lbs;
Overhead Holds of 20k KB: 20s/20s, 20s/20s
Overhead Holds of 20k KB, on one foot: 10s/10s, 20s/20s

Well, I snatched the 32k for the first time.  It was sloppy, but that certainly demystifies the weight.  However, between the snatch and the push press, I can honestly say I have no business putting the 32k KB overhead with one arm.  My shoulders are not stable enough for it to be safe.  I am going to practice overhead holds with my kettlebells until I feel like the 32k belongs up there.  Only then will I test for my snatch and push press goals.  I'll also be working on building up the snatches with the 28k, as that KB was stable.

I think I have learned how to harness the strength of my posterior chain to move the weight.  My anterior chain lags behind and is now the weak link.  I started back on the barbell overhead presses today in hopes of correcting that.  Once my overhead strength and stability improves, I will be in a solid position to build on to my other goals.

I'll probably stretch later today, it's time to eat.  I am very interested to see what ends up sore from today's workout.

the thing that is the most likely to be sore is your ass, from being kicked. please do not be unsafe in the gym. who will carry things around the house if your shoulder is hurt?

ALSO, your blog will be much more boring if every post is-- "rest day, still injured. rest day, still injured." for months on end.

      anyway, being unsafe is lame.

D'oh! I hate when they do that. My wife read my blog once. It was days before all was cool in the Amos house. It was only slightly worse than when my mother-in-law once read it.

If your wife reads this post, this is for her.
First, sorry I can't recall your name. Second, Scott is seriously one of the safest, most self aware guys in the gym that I have read. He approaches lifting with an awareness that most of us drown out with our egos too often.
When you do this thing we do, you will get hurt, but it'll be way better than being 55 and having a heart attack because you sat on your butt all your life. Of all the gym guys I know, Scott is one of the few that I would entrust my or a family member's well being to. You can trust him to be safe in the gym. When he does get injured, and he will, know that it could have been a whole lot worse but wasn't because of the lengths he has gone to.

btw Scott, I stopped by to let you know I think I fixed the feed thing on TS but I don't think your feed will update for me until you have an update. I'll try to keep an eye on it but if I forget to check, let me know if it is still broken.

lol, Mike. Don’t worry, I am not encroaching on his private space... he was following me around for about 20 minutes going, did you read my blog yet? Did you read my blog? Which was then followed up with - ha ha ha, look what this guy said on my blog to you!!! (To be fair, I have done the same thing with my blog too ( ; )

That said, I know he is safe, but in his own words, he shouldn’t have done it. And, if I trust him, I trust his word that he shouldn’t be doing it. He has an amazing will, which is perfect for lifting, unless you let it get the best of you. Which we all let happen, sometimes.

But it was teasing anyway, he knew what I was writing before I posted it. It sounds much more lighthearted as I am typing it while laughing with him sitting next to me.

The other thing is just plain self-preservation—YOU aren’t the one who has to listen to him moan for months if he is injured, that’s all me. So I can tell him to cut it out anyway. ; )

Yeah, that's right! I'm a role model Thanks Mike.

The feed is working now, I noticed that this morning. Did it turn out to be the file extension, or something else?  The Training Syndicate is coming together very nicely now.  It looks well polished.

oh, now look what I have gone and done. Your wife is gonna have to hear that for a while too
I used to do that thing with my blog too, until...well you know.
The feed issue was what I like to call and ID-10T (idiot)error. Stupid user. I have to pick the correct feed when I add you in, I apparently just picked the first one even though it clearly displays that there is no feed there.
